Twin Lakes Golf Course|Clifton, VA

Presented By:

The 2019 Froghair is TOMORROW!

Froghair Golfers,

On behalf of CYA and SYA, Thank you all very much for much for participating in the 2019 Froghair Golf Classic this Friday!  We have always felt that the Froghair should be a celebration for all of the folks who work so hard to put on AWESOME youth sports programs in both CYA and SYA.  Many of you are administrators who have most certainly earned an afternoon out on the course!

We have 59 Golfers signed up this year which is terrific!  We will tee off at 1pm on the Lakes course at Twin Lakes Golf Club.  As you all know, there are specific rules for each hole that need to be followed so expect to find a laminated Rules Sheet in each cart on Friday.  Dinner will be served immediately following the event.

Please plan to arrive by Noon to take part in our Putting and Chipping contest.  We strongly encourage everyone to participate – it’s only $20 to play in both and you have a chance to win $100!  PLUS, you get 2 Mulligans!  (Mulligans are NOT shareable.)  Extra Mulligans are available for $10 each.  We hope everyone takes part in the putting and chipping contest!

A Few additional Details:

  • Dinner will take place in the Oaks room immediately following golf so plan to stay for an extra few minute – in the AC!
  • Prizes will be awarded at Dinner – Longest Drive, Closest to the Hole on all par 3’s, Winning Foursome and the Runner Up Foursome.
  • It’s going to be HOT so hydrate!

And finally… Here’s the fun part!...  We need to create an element of CYA versus SYA to really make this interesting.  Let me see if I can paraphrase Gary’s idea!

Each foursome has their roots in either CYA or SYA and thus must claim their loyalty prior to the event.  That foursome’s score will count toward the contest so let’s say CYA has 7 teams and SYA has 7 teams, if CYA’s best score is 61 and SYA’s best score is 62, CYA takes home the Trophy and enjoy a year’s worth of bragging rights!  The trophy will be prominently displayed at either the Fieldhouse (CYA) or the SYA Office.   If CYA has 10 teams playing and SYA only has 4, then CYA’s odds of winning just went up.  Hopefully this will encourage participation in future events!  We will have a banner made along with the Trophy to highlight the event and draw even more attention.  Now, if a team has two CYA Players and two SYA Players, we will need to make an adjustment.  The competition committee (Gary and I) will review and make a call on Friday as to how we account for the score if that situation arises.

Again, thank you all for participating and please let us know if you have any questions.

See you all on Tomorrow!
